I am from the San Francisco Peninsula. After studying International Business Management at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I served as a missionary in places like Morocco, China, Italy, England, and France. Along the way, I completed an MDiv from Regent College in Vancouver, Canada. It was at Regent where I met my English wife, Christina. We have two daughters.
I love...life! I love celebrating God's goodness and creativity in nature and in food. I love spending time with people, listening to them and laughing with them. I love exploring new places, discovering new cultures, and learning new languages. Right here in Pleasant Hill, I have enjoyed getting to know my neighbors, hiking in the hills of Briones Park, and exploring the ridiculously good culinary scene. I am a life-long fan of the 49ers and Giants.
Samantha joined the Creek in the Fall of 2015. While part of her heart is still in the Midwest where she is originally from, Samantha has enjoyed being able to call the Bay Area home for most of the last 10 years, not only because of the amazing beauty and diversity it has to offer, but also because of the deep connections she has been able to make here. Leading the CreeKids ministry is a natural fit with her love for children and her desire to see them bless the Church through their growth in Christ. Samantha had an early love for children’s ministry which began at her home church where she began serving in 6th grade and held the role of Infant and Toddler Room Coordinator before she had even graduated high school. Samantha continued to serve in children’s ministry throughout college where she received a degree in Meeting and Event Management, a certificate in Missions and Evangelism, and took continuing coursework in Ministry Leadership. Samantha also has a coaching ministry where she serves an ambassador for Faith@Home movement and as a Children and Family Ministries Coach for the Evangelical Covenant Church. The congruence and combination of her coaching ministry and her ministry at the Creek enable her to partner with churches and families as she builds into the home, equips parents, and empowers children in their faith.
I am a mid-westerner who left the farm to study and travel abroad and all over the U.S. before landing in the Bay Area. I've enjoyed tasting many flavors of life and maintain an excitement for what's to come.
I'm proud of being mom to a daughter and a son, mom-in-law to their spouses, and g'mom to 4 with more on the way!
The journey of The Creek has been a big part of my life for 10 years. There is more to come as we follow Christ's lead. I look forward to sharing many adventures with all who call The Creek their church home, and all who connect with us through our ministry and mission.
